Where we travel together

My first trip to South Korea was life changing. And I know based on the title your wondering How the heck did this girl travel for 6 months with only 4 thousand dollars!! 

Well when I first planned my move I thought it would be 22,000 dollars because I was going to attend a language school under the ef program. In my opinion it’s great to use if you want to meet people without making any effort since you are all apart of the same program. 

And you don’t mind spending around 6k-11k for travel expenses and school. 

Luckily I ended up just solo traveling after my holiday visa got denied because I only have 3k saved up instead of 6k. I booked my one way flight for 453 dollars and my Airbnb for 586 per month on Airbnb for three months. 

When I was there I spent a lot of money at cafes, groceries, restaurant, and soju and wine. But during my first three months I went to haeundae beach a lot and some other parts of busan. 

But it wasn’t until the last 3 months where I decided to do more sight seeing in Ulsan since I lived there at the daegwan park and the Ulsan grand park! 

Since I was in school I was getting a stipend every month so everything was portioned out the whole year! 

Since I didn’t obtain a visa for Korea I had to leave after 3 months leading me to adventure off into Thailand. I chose Bangkok as the city of choice and stayed there for about a month. 

Money was running very slow at the time so it was a great choice. I stayed in an Airbnb for 136 the whole week, until a big spider ran me off, then I just decided to book an affordable hotel for the rest of the time.

After Thailand I went back to Korea for two weeks then went back to the United States. 

My time in Korea in 2023-2024 was amazing and I got to experience a lot of culture shock. 

 Apps I used while in Korea 

 I used these methods to travel affordably! 

1. Skyscanner to book a one way flight for $400 dollars 

2. Airbnb to find a place to stay 

3. kakao T for transportation or just using a taxi off the street. 

4. For food I went grocery shopping, but eating out was also cheap as well. 

I used apps like shuttle that doesn’t require your phone number Korean! 

For activities I did everything like a local I didn’t use a tour guide! 

For SIM cards I used airalo but there are Wi-Fi eggs available and SIM cards available at the airport 

I also stayed in cities such as Ulsan and Busan to save money! And for vacations I stayed at the lotte hotel in Ulsan
